Aeris Communications is seeking a Lead Software Engineer with a solid background in software architecture, web and mobile application development, and a passion for working with cutting edge technology.

In this role, you will be working in a small, fast-paced development team, collaborating with other developers, product management, and quality assurance. This is a great position where you will be making a direct impact in the development of our market-leading IoT solutions while working and learning from top talent in this booming industry!


Responsibilities:

  • You will develop software solutions by studying requirements, conferring with users, studying data usage and work processes, investigating problem areas - following the software development lifecycle
  • You will develop documentation, design specifications, and architecture diagrams
  • Collaborate with product management and UX design teams to define user experience requirements
  • Improve operations by conducting systems analysis; recommending changes in policies and procedures
  • You will ultimately define & design architecture components within the Aeris IoT cellular network, participating from inception through support phases of the development and deployment lifecycle
  • You will have the opportunity to travel to Aeris' global locations and potentially to customer locations, as needed


Must Have:

  • You must have a Bachelors' degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent discipline
  • You must have at least 5+ years of software engineering experience with solid understanding of Java, JavaScript or Swift programming language
  • You are experienced in developing and consuming RESTful services
  • You have working knowledge and experience with mobile application development on Android and/or iOS
  • You have a lot of knowledge and experience with front-end development including JavaScript frameworks (React/Angular), web sockets, AJAX, CSS and HTML
  • Experience developing and consuming RESTful services
  • You are knowledgeable of Agile and enjoy working with Agile process
  • Ability to work independently with customers, proactive, self-starter and self-managed
  • Since we have a very collaborative environment, you must have strong written and verbal skills

 

Nice to Have:

  • Experience developing apps with React and/or React Native framework
  • You understand relational and NOSQL data store concept
  • You are knowledgeable of Node.JS and/or web components
  • You understand micro-service architecture, stream processing and messaging
  • You have previous experience working with geographically distributed teams
  • You have hands-on experience working with testing frameworks and implementing test automation
