Aeris is looking for a strong hands-on DevOps Architect who will work closely with development teams to lead the identification and implementation of the latest tools, best practices, and processes to support faster software development and integration. The DevOps Architect will lead and collaborate with the development engineers to support the packaging, deployment, monitoring, and system reliability scripting that will turn software into a complete deployable product. This person will be accountable for production software deployments and be the go-to person for our Operations team for the ongoing management of our AerCloud stack.

What would you be doing?

  • You will be researching and recommending the latest open source tools, evolving our cutting edge technologies and industry techniques to achieve optimal results 
  • You will lead the development and implemenation of automated build and deployment methodologies
  • You will be managing multiple environments across different product lines to ensure the integrity of the quality assurance function 
  • You will participate in design reviews and contribute towards building scalable and extensible architectures 
  • Document and manage software platform matrix and operational processes 
  • Collaborate with offshore operations and engineering teams to deploy builds in different environments and to implement follow-the-sun model

What you need for this position?

  • You have your Bachelor's degree in a Technical Discipline (CS, EE, Math, Physics, etc.) 
  • You have a minimum of 10 + years’ experience with web deployment, handling Production, part of IT operations or DevOps.
  • Hands-on experience in deploying software in Private clouds and/or Public clouds (AWS) 
  • Hands-on experience in Linux/Unix environment and scripting languages: KSH, BASH, Perl, Python 
  • Hands-on experience with Databases (SQL/NoSQL): Oracle, MySQL , Hadoop, Cassandra 
  • Hands-on experience with open source tools specifically: RabbitMQ, Kubernetes, Terraform, Cacti, Capistrano.
  • You have strong hands-on experience in setup and managing DevTest (Pre-Production) and Production environment 
  • Strong experience with Apache/Tomcat/JBoss based web applications and services (SOAP, REST, etc.) 
  • You are experienced in implementing continuous integration using Maven, Jenkins, Bamboo, etc. 
  • Strong experience in GIT and parallel development , branching strategies and methodologies 
  • Strong in writing deployment automation/orchestration scripts 
  • You must have worked with security standards for Web Applications and Services 
  • You have hands-on experience in monitoring tools like Nagios and Zabbix
  • Strong communications, analytical and troubleshooting skills 
  • Ability to adapt to time critical deadlines and changing priorities in fast pace environment. 
  • Kubernetes experience is a big plus
