    Aeris is seeking a talented Lead Software Engineer for our Platform for IoT Solutions.  This position requires an experienced engineer capable of operating with minimal supervision and a strong tendency for independent thinking. This position will utilize the candidate's strong technical background and analytical skills along with a solid foundation of data components and database interaction. Candidate will work with the latest technologies in data processing and data management. Also be responsible for leading and coordinating tasks within global development team.

    Role and Responsibilities:

    • Communicates proactively and effectively with product and engineering management and project stakeholders in a highly agile environment
    • Independently lead technical designs and implementation of product features leveraging emerging technologies like Hadoop (Cloudera), Kafka, Redis, Hbase, Kubernetes, Docker, Flink, and Node.js.
    • Responsible for reporting progress against schedule for all assigned tasks on a regular basis and bringing them to closure.

    What we look for in you:

    • Minimum of 8 years of software development experience, including prior experience as a database programmer in a commercial software development environment
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related major
    • Experience using Java (willingness to learn Node.js)
    • Experience in database systems like Oracle, SQL Server and MySQL
    • Scripting experience - Shell, batch, Python etc.
    • Knowledge of Linux/UNIX required
    • Exposure to asynchronous programming and server side scripting
    • Experience with database design, database snapshots, table partitions, and backup/recovery strategy
    • Solid verbal, written skills and problem solving skills
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently or within a team environment
    • Self-motivated and initiated to take up a problem and drive it to conclusion
    • Strong desire to work in a fast-paced environment
    • Ability to work with global teams
